Indian Journalist Association will protest against the murders of journalists in Uttar Pradesh - Seraj Ahmad Quraishi
Journalists raised their voice to strengthen Indian Journalist Association.

An important meeting of Indian Journalist Association Gorakhpur unit was held at Media House, Ghazi Roza Tiraha, Dr. Aziz Ahmed Road Gorakhpur. The meeting was chaired by National Organization Secretary Akhileshwar Dhar Dwivedi and conducted by Gorakhpur Divisional President Rafi Ahmed Ansari.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Guest National President Seraj Ahmad Quraishi said that journalists are unsafe in Uttar Pradesh. The spirits of criminals are high, proof of which is the brutal murder of Fatehpur journalist Dilip Saini and Bilhaur Kanpur journalist Swatantra Kushwaha. We demand from the government that the culprits should be given death sentence after hearing in fast track court, and the victim's family should be given compensation of one crore rupees.
Mr Quraishi further said that due to the resentment arising from the publication of news in Hamirpur, two journalists Amit Dwivedi and Shailendra Mishra were called in a conspiracy and brutality was done in a closed room. According to the victim journalists, the Nagar Panchayat Chairman and some history sheeter criminals stripped them naked and beat them brutally. After the beating, they handed pistols to the journalists and took their photographs. After this, a case under SC ST Act was also registered against the journalists.
While reporting the mismanagement in the government hospital, Zee News correspondent Alok Tripathi of Kanpur Dehat was mistreated, his camera was turned off and he was locked in a room and was also abused. The family of Mau Hindustan newspaper journalist Nitish Harihar was attacked. The government should take strict action against the culprits.
A unanimous resolution was passed in the meeting that the Indian Journalist Association will launch a massive movement against the injustice being done to journalists and by strengthening the organization, the fight of journalists will be fought at every level and by running a membership campaign, the office bearers of block and tehsil will be selected soon.
Mainly State President Purvanchal Surendra Kumar Singh, District President Rakesh Kumar Mishra, Avnish Tripathi, Mohammad Azam, Satya Prakash Verma, Naved Alam, Ahad Karim, Anshul Verma, Dr. Ateeq Ahmad and other journalists were present in the meeting.
