Indian Medical Physicist Shriram Rajurkar received the IUPAP AOCMP-SEACOMP Travel Award.

The 24th Asia-Oceania Congress of Medical Physics (AOCMP), in conjunction with the 22nd South-East Asia Congress of Medical Physics (SEACOMP), took place at The Wembley - A St Giles Hotel, Penang, Malaysia. During this conference, travel grant awards were given to several medical physicists to attend and present their work at the Congress.

One of these awards, the "AOCMP-SEACOMP 2024 Travel Award," was established by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). The awards were created to support aspiring medical physicists from developing countries by providing financial assistance to attend AOCMP 2024.

Five recipients were honored with the "IUPAP AOCMP-SEACOMP Travel Award" during the event. The awardees were Hamza Arjah from Jordan, Ariij Naufal from Indonesia, Waritsara Kriangkraiwat from Thailand, Tanny Bepari from Bangladesh, and Shriram Ashok Rajurkar from India. Each recipient received a cash prize of MYR 2,000 (approximately INR 40,000).

Shriram Rajurkar was one of the Indian recipients of the award. He is currently working as a Senior Research Fellow under the supervision of Professor Teerthraj Verma in the Department of Radiotherapy at King George's Medical University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
