Journalists should work to make society aware - Dr. Arvind Rai

Journalists have played an important role in making India independent. Journalism is a challenging task in the current environment. Only journalists can work for the betterment of society and to make them aware.
These things were expressed by senior journalist Dr. Arvind Rai while addressing the seminar organized by journalists on the topic of Rural Journalism in the Current Environment: Challenges and Possibilities and the felicitation ceremony of the newly elected executive of Gorakhpur Journalists Press Club in Atal Auditorium of Dev Memorial Public School located in Belipar.
He said that there is a crisis of trust in news among the people between journalism of two decades ago and the present time. The authenticity of the news is the responsibility of the journalist.
The newly elected President of Gorakhpur Journalist Press Club Ritesh Mishra said that rural journalists who have come into this field due to being sensitive towards the public should take it as a passion. He said that journalists of rural areas should make it a means of social service and not a source of income. Rural journalists should also focus on various cultural and social aspects of their region.
Press Club Vice President Bhupendra Dwivedi said that journalists should write news impartially.
Addressing the seminar, JP Gupta, Convenor of Purvanchal Journalist Association and Jr. Seraj Ahmad Quraishi, National President of Indian Journalist Association said that journalists working in rural areas often face security threats. For which journalist organizations should work together.
The program started with lighting of lamp on the statue of Maa Saraswati and welcome. It was conducted by Raj Narayan Tripathi and Avnish Tripathi.
